Is it just me or is anyone confused with how the mother died?

FTR I work in Healthcare

So the ML is loaded with .$$$$$ why did he send the MC’s parents, to be looked after in a clinic? The translation said he would take them to a hospital but instead he takes them to a clinic? The difference between the two is a hospital would actually provide 24/7 care and the hospital equipment in America vs Korea is NOT that different so the mother approaching death or something wrong with the mother would have been caught sooner. The mother died for nothing and I want to know why exactly she died <- and I am praying there is a story behind this and it wasn’t a plot decide by the author to create that entire drug situation…..

In all Honestly if the ML is as rich as I am suppose to think, he should have sent the parents to a hospital and have an MRI of the entire body done asap (normally hospitals don’t do the entire body unless a physical trauma happened meeting certain requirements and or a different specialist wanted certain body parts examined because they might suspect something is wrong with the patient and want to have a certain area inspected.) All in all if he has that much money he probably has the connections to get a hospital to do a full body MRI and would have caught shit way sooner l. At least if he did this the right way the mother wouldn’t have died like that and she could have lived a lot longer. Also a hospital would have had these patients set up on monitors- this clinic like the place the ML choose is literally only providing them with a bed and IV fluids which is pretty upsetting and pretty much reminds me of nursing homes.

Regardless I want to know how and why the mother died <_< and considering my knowledge of the medical field I think the author just did this for a plot device :’(

Hi hi~ I'm here to answer your questions.. but since English in not my first language maybe I'll find it a little bit difficult to explain things but please bare with me ╥﹏╥

As far as i know the author take inspiration from Kowloon Walled City (maybe you already know it, since it's known as the densest city in the world and already demolished in 1993, please do watch or read some video or articles about this one, cause this will definitely help us to understand more about the condition of the characters, basic on the background of that place)

The first chapter of this manhwa said that "there's no law" in red mansion, same as what Kowloon City known for. Basic of the background itself, Kowloon is a place for criminals, illegal citizens, people smuggling and stuffs even the MC didn't have a legal document like birth certificate (if my memory is correct), so i assume the ML didn't take his parents to a hospital cause they're not really a legal citizens or maybe they are also fugitives or something, I don't really know honestly... because it is said that their business also failed after that they went bankrupt, I assume they also probably have loans out there that's maybe they "escaped" to Red Mansion, and also the ML still have many eyes watching him, like his brothers that probably watching his movements for 24/7, randomly brought someone else's parents (and a Red Mansion's resident on top of that) to a hospital in the city probably just gonna increase their suspicions about him, and he's still in denial about how he act towards the MC, he's probably like "I'm gonna help him but just this much cause he make me remember about my past self" it's understandable giving his circumstances too tbh...

Just as Kowloon City, the sanitary system, intake and exhaust system, and water system are unfortunately questionable, i assume it since the first chapter in the manhwa stated that even sunlight can't go through there (Red Mansion) just like Kowloon City (and my friend who had read the novel said that the novel indeed said that Red Mansion's model take inspiration from Kowloon Wallet City). In the novel it is stated that there is a plague, which is spreading and causing some of the residents to have difficulty breathing, for those who have been affected by the disease (it is not clearly stated what the disease is) they will experience difficulty breathing, it will be difficult to swallow food, like their throat is constricted and it will be difficult to swallowing foods, like if the food goes in, it will be vomited out again, that's why in this last chapter the MC said he has to breathe more loudly, because it seems like he also has difficulty breathing

In the last manhua I read (that was actually set in Kowloon Walled City), one of the characters died from respiratory problems. So, based on real events, many outbreaks occurred in Kowloon and most of the population died from respiratory problems...

Thank you! That was very fascinating to read. I just saw a documentary on it and it's shocking to see how many people still speak fondly of a place called "City of Darkness".
It's truly a view into the core of society and humanity itself.
Would you mind sharing that Manhua or any other you know?
