Yeah the nightmare stuff is really dumb but he was always like that, it’s literally said over and over how obsessive and crazy he is in the original story, he was meant to go crazy, he was just masking that side of his personality really well

Whatever is trying to take over her body is playing with her mind. It's not sudden, it's been foreshadowed for quite some time. It seems to try to take her body when her guard is down or her mind is at its weakest. They implied the same happened to the original ML of the BL
