I don't think his wife is being threatened just that Ciel is force to live in Korea and can no longer go back to his world because the saintess is set on keeping him in Earth. I think he hated his wife at first because the govt can force to send him to dungeons now that he has a guide than can stabilize his seizures.
As far as I remember it hasn’t really been explained yet why he was cold and controlling to her. They remember their married lives differently. We can make assumptions (obvious assumptions) but I feel like we’re waiting for that reveal. Unless I missed something:)
