Wow, this is probably one of the few romance fantasy where you can really observe how the characters develop. I also like how they retain their distinctive personalities despite the changes. We have to keep in mind that they are people (well, a depiction of), they too will act on impulses, fail to express emotions, and act stupid. Really looking forward how they will work out. Rooting for then to find happiness!
