For real, and I thought he was supposed to be smart? (although tbf if the MC had always viewed Illya as a sweet kid ofc he would be rattled by finding out going with that route will lead to the deaths of the people closest to him or that he gets imprisoned and his memory wiped and wouldn't know how to react)
And if you think about it the 2 bad ending happens because the MC rejects him, so maybe to avoid the 1st and 2nd is to not ignore him but instead try to help him understand how he feels and maybe accept it? (although it would feel icky if Jerry had to accept Illyas 'love' to keep everyone else safe rather than choosing it because it's mutual)

Bro needs to use his brain. Obviously he went off script and changed the timeline so some things changed. Ignoring Illya will just make it worse.
