But don't they live in a world where the women are even more of a background character than mc and pretty much impossible to fall in love with. Unless a interesting girl shows up, I am fine with shipping mc with hayato or else our mc would have to be eternally single (like me), which is a little sad.
Girls are background characters yes but so is the MC, during his little brother's scenes with his ship Toujo, our MC is also a blurry background character whose face is always cropped out of frame, but he appears fine to us in private.
I remember that the MC's cousin got married with the dude from a unrequited love ship. I'm sure that the dude didn't fall in love with the cousin from her blurry face, so theoretically, in private, the cousin actually has a face and personality and stuff like our MC.
The main point is, I want our MC to break the 'norm' of the world, boy or girl, at least fall for someone WITHOUT any flags, without any flower petals in the background, just normally, and that's how MC will beat this world.

Am I the only one who doesn't ship Hayato with our MC? The best appeal of this manga was how our MC is avoiding all these flags in the most mob-like way. I like seeing the BL world from his point of view. Him falling for a flag is him loosing against this world.
I want our MC to win.
