I thought that everyone just sees “Conrad” differently. He is meant to be this sort of animal. So those that suffered a very big loss sees them as the person that passed. That’s why he’s particularly hostile to Lakash. Lakash has no suffered a loss. His sister is still alive and well so Lakash probably feels and sees “Conrad” for who he really is which is DOES NOT LIKE.
