I feel like it's more like feeling impending death than losing hope in life. Humans go to that world when they are in a situation of death and they are aware that they are going to die in that instant, but before it happens they are transported to that world. The same applies to returning to the original world or that's the theory until now as I understood
do humans enter this strange world when they have no hope to live (like FL) and then, continue staying because they prefer this strange world?
but if they want to return and live in the original human world, they no longer have reason to exist in this strange world and therefore vanish (like that a-hole) ?
