I guess that’s the confusing part because if he just coincidentally looks like her brother because the demon is a stan why would those memories manifest if the vessel is just a vessel with the likeness and memories of the target that’s why I think he found the actual body or living brother or something and tried to wipe and replace his memory maybe
I think it's because perhaps the devil could make out the shape of his soul or something. He was known to be different from other violent souls after all. Maybe he chose his soul specifically because it resembled the sister's/idol's face.
