I don't remember it being this bad in the novel. It was never good, don't get me wrong, but ouch. Maybe I have just repressed how bad it truly was (has been quite some time since I read the novel), or maybe actually seeing it just hits harden than reading about it.
I also feel, like the way he's going about the rape, makes it worse than just using brute force. If Wooyeon did that, at least Inseob could tell himself, he truly did not have a choice. This way, it'll always feel like he had one and chose the rape for himself. That might not be how it works in reality, but humans are prone to blaming themselves if stuff like this happens to them.
