Since he is a male, it makes sense that the artwork is well-drawn. I'm not sure, but I think the way the artist illustrates their characters gives you a hint.
I can notice this when it comes to straight smut clearly, pretty well for yaoi too, but honestly I wouldn't be able to tell for this one. When men draw yaoi, they don't pick cute bottoms but manly ones. The story is also less focused on feelings and more on the act of sex. So honestly, this one isn't obvious at all imo.
Idk if someone talked about this before but some male authors prefer to hide their identities by using female-sounding pen names. I've heard that queer authors prefer not to make their gender obvious just in case some creep manages to connect the dots about their identity and harass them.
