Did we read the same thing king IL wasn't really the bad guy. He was a bad king sure, but the only fault I find in him is when he reacted out of jealousy once. Other than that, he loved his wife and he loved the people.
If his brother had ascended the throne, as much as he loved him he would have been a horrible king. A conqueror, maybe. But not a king. He is brutal and ruthless. King il saved the people from that, even if he got laughed at. He took care of Soo won, even if he knew he would kill him in the future.
How is he the bad guy?
Did not see that coming king Il (Yona's father) was the bad guy all along and Yona's mom was a priestess that Soowon's dad burned down temple killing almost all priests or she could even be of red dragon bloodline like Soowon and his mother making her have the sickness to but it was siad that not only dragon's and the red dragon bloodline has short lives but those that have powers beyond what a human should have and Hak also fits that bill and Yona so does that mean they will both have short lives they better start the successor making fast if that is the case ╥﹏╥
