Why? What happened
Didn’t the Valois family take part in the subjugation of his kingdom? Also he stayed at a house (the viscount) with people hostile to the duchy. Wouldn’t be surprised if they talked a lot of smack about how the duchy is vicious (as seems to be the popular opinion) and were the reason why the prince (Sian) is being held hostage (and therefore forced to live as a slave)
