Am I the only one?

Am I the only one who finds it annoying that a yaoi where a single dad (usually a seme) gets with someone his kid ALWAYS falls in love with his father's lover. And then there's the obligatory heartbreak scene when he realizes he has no chance. (●￣(ｴ)￣●)
