he's a regular guy who's the butler but ordered by aiden to act as the duke since the curse killed (and still does) everyone he loves, including the real Philip. The butler is there as a stand-in, and ultimately used for the sister's downfall since so many seek revenge against her (ted included)
Oh god. I wonder why Ted is so against her too? Poor girl, everyone is after her but in a bad way. ╥﹏╥
