Basically its a story set in world war 2. An american prisoner of war is washed ashore in a dying state and is found at the doorstep of a Japanese doctor. Since we know that the japanese have this heavy nationalistic/patriotic ideology, should the japanese doctor save the dying american and betray his country or hand him over to the authorities and betray his duty for being a doctor and saving a life?
i love this story so much and this manga reminded me of it since it portrays the patriotism of the japanese people and their resentment towards the "enemy".
it reminds me of "The enemy" by Pearl S. Buck
