It's NOT the exact same story! That seriously annoys me. They are two very different stories. They just so happen to have two big things in common.

Omg yes! I was looking for it because the story is so similar!

-> Father left by his wife
-> Has to take care of his kid but isn't used to it since his ex-wife usually did it
-> Some hot guy appear and takes care of them
-> Dad and hot guy become lovers
-> Kid falls in love with his dad's lover
-> Grown up kid end up with his childhood friend after giving up on his first love.

Still, I think Koishite daddy is better. Maybe because it's longer, the characters are probably more developped. Here, the one I had a problem with wasn't Chiharu but his dad. It just didn't feel real for me. He changed personality like, two times. Also, he went out with the teacher for about... 10 years? And his kid never knew. Yeah, right ╮(￣▽￣)╭
