it’s real fucking weird, he only started liking the girl cos she’s like a carbon copy of his mum. Literally. in one of the chapters there’s portraits of all the humans who’ve had an influence on him, and it looks like they just copy and pasted the same face onto the mum and the girl. for him to feel romantic feelings towards her is just so so disappointing
