The king of karkaharajhah (i dont remember his name) probably knew that the queen's making her starve, but if the queen would punish the princess, he also prob think "punish? she can try, she'll meet me in hell" or some lol

He does, I think this is more of him trying to free her from queens influence and fear she has towards her
