I think that's the trick, it's kinda of unjustifiable, Brody being the daughter of an evil man doesn't make her evil, it can be argued that she profited from his situation she used his money his notoriety with zero remorse or even hesitation but that's a little bit fickle in my opinion, a lot of revolutionists won't agree with me though

Morally speaking it's still unjustified, that's a reason to kill her yes but it doesn't excuse the murder of an innocent, I feel like Brody is a kind of Marie Antoinette figure, she isn't evil per se but she is doing pretty evil thing by morl stands, she uses the money her dad took by over taxing and starving the population for petty things like having a room full of perfect dresses she refused to wear again, but this in it self isn't a Brody problem but a noble class problem all nobles are like this in this kind of stories and sending Brody to the guillotine alone for that would be a little bit hypocritical no...
Anyway I love the way this author approach morals in the story nothing and nobody is totally good or bad there is a lacking of honest in the characters interaction that Iove it makes them feel really

I totally agree with you on this point. There is smth revolting in the conviction that it is justified to abuse someone who personally did nothing wrong based on the bloodline/nationality/religion. It just creates an endless circle of a victims who was ruined for nothing. And at this point I find FL's personality really disgusting. She is no better than all those abusive characters (usually males in romance) who take out their resentment on someone irrelevant to their misfortune and forced to take responsibility for their parent's sins. I especially pity Brody 'cause it is obvious that she is just another victim of her father, who has no power to go against him.
My mind is screaming brody is innocent but I do wanna see how Claire will take her revenge on her & her family. I'd like to see how It's justified
