Its not without purpose. In the military irl this would've resulted in WAY worse and I'd know (entire fam is military and friends). Yes they need to talk but this is a much better outcome then what could've happened by far
I remeber how First impression about this was that they have super cute relationship and I was happy that the conflict isnt based on something toxic, but now the author is just trying to complicate things without purpose, like just let them talk
