that scene was really kinda incomplete. we don't know what happened to the doll he transferred his mind to (and the one who was actually rap*d). probably it's better explained in the novel but I'm not sure...

Not sure if this is right, but this is how I remember/understand it.
Bcos of his confrontation with Kid, he started wanting to be a human(?), I think. And bcos of that, he wants to feel how human feels.
So he used the other Android body that has more human-like sensitivity.
That Android was intended as a s*xdroid (if I remember right), so it's sensitivity is more human-like.

So inna means to protect his data base from being overloaded he tried to stay connected to try and save the other machine as well but as it resulted, the data from the other Soho kinda invaded his programing so when Major arrived KID had intercepted the notification to the research center and had it sent to the Major's phone instead which lead to Major having his episode [INTENTIONAL SABOTAGE]
This leading to Soho having his memory reset for Major's safety to before the incident had occurred.
