From all the manga and just other knowledge I have, Japan definitely has a pedophilia problem. Shota and Loli are literally genres of manga which are basically glorafied cp. The fine line between discussing pedophilia with the seriousness it needs and the borderline romantasization or glorification of it gets blurred very quickly.
Thou this manga did a good job at representing it, alot of mangas also end up glorifing it.
So I 100% agree with ur observation.
And I can't spell

Japan absolutely has a pedophilia problem. Take the author of Ruruoni Kenshin as an example. He was arrested and fined for having child p*rnography in his home, and his manga is still being serialized. (A manga that has young female characters I might add.) My Japanese ex didn’t have as big of an issue with it as me, which was very concerning, and it definitely made it clear to me how little Japanese people (not all of course) care about this. So it’s no wonder that it’s so prevalent in manga and anime.
When I'm reading some Japanese BL manga, not just BL but probably other Japanese manga too, the trauma often depicted is rape, specifically pedophilic rape. I've mentioned this before, but a lot of Japanese BL manga include pedophilia. It feels like it's considered normal for Japanese authors, as if it isn't controversial at all. I'm not saying the trauma here is cliché—it's disgusting.
My first BL manga had pedophilia in it. The majority of the manga I read contain this theme, and I wonder if this is a common occurrence in Japan. How do they all depict the same trauma? How do they portray the same romances like that? I guess I'll never know.
Anyways, I loved the story so much! I guess you could say it's realistic? They're so cute my babies (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ. Condolences to the author tho, we will never see her other masterpieces.
