[putting this as spoiler because I may or may not spilled the lores;;;]
I absolutely adore the way the boy and Tera spend their time together; their dynamic, the chemistry, and that “storytelling” moment !? The plot TWIST!! I GASPED when the boy mentioned about the black cross. I can smell the angst all the way now and I'm nawt ready for it... (But I will leave no crumbs behind that I'm sure)
Though this is just my own thoughts, I kinda could tell that Tera knew right away about which "black cross incident" the boy was talking about (from the way his "eyes" glowed and the whole thing about that panel in general) and he deeply regretted it. Or perhaps he was angry at himself because the fact that one of the family/people his gang killed happened to be his crush's family? Perhaps he blames himself for everything that the boy's suffering from? It's the fact that the boy was describing how of a kind person Tera was while he was seen punching the walls at the back that got me. That is top tier emotional scene man.
But this leads into a more deeper information here. The fact that the boy's family was targeted by Black Death, it could only mean one thing : they made a deal with the Black Death, and they did not fulfill their part of agreement. Hence why the brother was so terrified upon seeing the black cross. It could also be that he was the one who made a deal with them, and now his family got involved in his problems with the gang.
And since people are theorising the shadow figure our boy fears the most could be a Black Death member, I don't know why but I feel like that person could be the leader himself. Maybe Tera was there during the arson, perhaps he's the one who hanged one of the boy's family to death (instead of the common theory about committing suicide), it could be that Tera witnessed how terrified the young boy was, or maybe he found the boy in a closed space (like a wardrobe or a shelf?) but decided to turn into a blind eye? It could possibly that he witnessed some kind of a ritual/a mark being made within the house. A mark that shows the "beginning" or a new "milestone" for Black Death. And what's the most gut wrenching thing here for our wolf? He didn't know the terrified young boy was the one he's been hanging out with today. I'm sure the least that could happen here is he feels extremely guilty.
Tera broke his mask while venting out (whether it was unintentional or not). Could this mean that this is the beginning of Tera not wanting to get involved with the Black Death anymore ? Not being able to perform his usual criminal antics because now he feels so wrong about it? Though I see this broken mask as a symbol of his cynical view about the world being completely shattered/shifted/changed because of the boy's story— that, or it's him that's shattered. Because he had hurt the one he likes and the boy was blissfully unaware of that.
I love hanging on so many possibilities (even if it's just a hunch or baseless theories) because one of them could be true. xP can't wait for the next chapter!!
