I reread this manhwa and I still don't like all of them, to put it frankly. While I'm more on Yahwi's side, I don't really like how he behave either. So snarky and for what. Seriously, his relationship with Jooin was so full of misunderstanding, assumptions, and miscommunication. Meanwhile as Cain's relationship with Jooin seemed more sincere, I cannot deny the fact that he was super suspicious in the beginning and then he was so full of secrecy too. (Thank god it was cleared later in the story, though I still don't like how it turns out)
I pity Cain, but lord I cannot through with the logic of him being the "loyal ML" simply because he was in love with the past life Jooin. Not that I think reincarnation trope is bad (though most reincarnation trope I read is shitty) but I think it could be executed in a better plot.. then, his attitude in the beginning was such a jerk. At least to me. Yes, he is nice ! I cannot deny that. But when he kept pressuring Jooin to accept him ? Even though it's not me in that situation, I felt so overwhelmed and stressed everytime he did that. Not to mention he always did that when Jooin was at his lowest or just had a fight with Yahwi. That's such a filthy move to win over someone, even if the intention is genuine.
...I forgot why I was on Yahwi's side in the first place. I guess I just pity him because I can tell he is/was a kid with trauma. That snarky behaviour is too familiar for me lmao. And maybe because Cain made my alarm goes off quite a few times and I couldn't even tell/pinpoint why. Either way that does NOT justify what Yahwi did to Jooin in earlier chapters. Never will. I love that he wanted to redeem himself and make up to Jooin, but the miscommunication here is so awful.
Ultimately, I don't like how Jooin treats both ML. He keeps dilly dallying in dilemma while constantly hurt both ML (and himself in the process). He always assume the worst about Yahwi but all meek and timid around Cain until he felt something was off about him. I mean, I completely understand his position, I've been in such dilemma too though it's not about relationships. Can't agree to his acts but can't say he's 100% at fault too. But that episode where Yahwi was sick ? Lord, I want to slap him so bad. I kept wishing for him to just never pick any of them at all not just for their own good but for HIS own good too !! I guess the only good thing he ever did here was telling Cain to live his life to the fullest for himself and not because he want to love someone else.
Regardless, the ending sucks but on the brighter side the three of them grow mature from this complicated situationship(?). That's the only thing I like about the ending. Oh and Cain making up with his family! That's very heartwarming. But ultimately I still prefer Jooin never end up together with Yahwi (or Cain).
Honestly? This may be controversial but if author insist on Jooin end up being in a relationship why not just make him date both Yahwi and Cain ? After all the shit the three of them went through, one is being left out.
