In chapt 17, Sangwoo says "since it's our anniversary, it's pointless if you, the main character is not there."
So he's been trapped at his house for a year already?!?! For all the things this manhwa does well, the sense of time progression is confusing.

I was shocked too, it seems like it's only been a month or a few.

If you remember, there's that one chapter where there seems to be a time lapse of some sort. ┗( T﹏T )┛

I think there are quite a few time skips throughout the story. I just thought the time skips were a few weeks or months. It just makes me sad that he's been there for an entire year already.

I think the biggest time marker (if not the only marker) are his legs. He only needs to use a single crutch and can therefore place most of his weight on his legs for an undetermined amount of time (we'll go ahead and say an extended period).
I got a bit more into this than I meant to? I know ya'll didn't ask for it, but I'll throw it out there for jabs, anyway!

A medically treated -minor- (or stress) fracture to a leg can take six to eight weeks to completely abandon use of crutches and/or a wheelchair, but Bum not only didn't receive any medical attention for his injuries, but he also suffers from malnourishment (which can notably slow the healing process), and those breaks were anything but minor.

What we don't know is if both the major bones in his legs were broken (the tibia & fibula), or if it was just the tibia (shinbone). The second factor is the type of fracture; personally, I have a hard time believing he suffered anything less severe than a comminuted fracture (where the bone breaks into multiple pieces) given the circumstances (especially now that it's been a year and he's still using a crutch).
"Some tibial shaft fractures heal within 4 months, yet many may take 6 months or longer to heal. This is particularly true with open fractures and fractures in patients who are less healthy." That's 6 months or longer with medical treatment (insane)!

Poor Bum doesn't have the luxury of modern medicine (let alone a well nourished body that isn't under immense psychological stress 24/7) to help him recover, so we can pretty much double that recovery time and voila! 12 months have passed and Bum still needs a crutch.

Granted, we haven't had many opportunities to see him actually needing to use crutches, so before seeing him with only one crutch, it was probably a lot harder to tell if it'd been any longer than a few months.

I was about to suggest the same thing. Other than the blatant time lapses, the healing of Bum's leg is a pretty good indicator/estimate of the amount of time that has passed. I love the little context clues that Koogi drops in here and there for us (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

    (This is quite unrelated but,)

I heard there was someone who asked Koogi in ask.fm (?) about the way Bum holds his spoon (not quite sure about the details since it's in Korean), Koogi responded and expressed that she was glad someone noticed! Hahaha gosh I love Koogi. <3

Another thing to consider is that Bum only really walked on his legs when they went out together, and that was not very often. When he was at Sangwoo's house, he was mainly sitting and crawling around, slowing the healing process even more. Leg injuries heal faster when you gradually start using them again and exercising, not just sitting around all the time. This did not help Bum's injuries either, making his legs heal even slower.

Good point. I would've thought those would heal much faster.
I feel like we are all thinking way too hard about this manhwa, haha.

And just in case, I'd like to remind everyone to pleeeeeeeease not spoil the future chapters here. This is the type of manhwa where I really want to be surprised.

i think the author really put some effort into this manhwa. if you notice sangwoo's house, everything in his house is so consistent. plus all those little clues that lead us to what we have now. you should try appreciating the hidden genius of it
