Pilgyeon's red flag affection is actually similar to so many semes in yaois and would even pale in comparison to so many toxic mls. Also if u read carefully, in ch71, it was highly suggested (though not confirmed) that Soongap was conceived with his mother's previous lover before becoming a concubine hence Pilgyeon had an idea its ok to love Soongap romantically as they are not biologically related.
