I doubt it was a whim. If she had taken Sohan with her, his father would have used their child as an excuse to claw his way back into her life. I also do not condone what the mother did, but I also understand why she felt she needed to do it.
I don’t condone what the mother did by leaving sohan, but i can sympathize with why she did it. The father’s clearly an asshole and is most likely the reason for everything that happened. The mom probably just wanted to be free from that and just left everything on a whim. Maybe she didn’t take sohan for a multitude of reasons, but i wish she at least kept in touch with him. Although given how the father’s acting rn i can see why she may have avoided contact with sohan as well entirely.
