Even in the novel it wasn't explicitly mentioned. Just that it seems to be set for his character deviance and naivety towards sex.
I for once like how it plays out because the way it's being portrayed will make us understand his defining character even more. Like it make sense why the story opened with him as a whistleblower. Seriously think people should chill and enjoy the ride because we're not even pass half of the chapters from novel
