Considering that the seme didn't specify the job properly when offering it to the uke (that it involved prostitution) , constantly berated the uke, and didn't even wait for him to consent before he got his staff to blow the uke , I wouldn't really depend on the "he's not an asshole, just misunderstood" trope. So yes, I think we have plenty of reason to think he's mean . But you're definitely entitled to your views, so what made you think that he was "loving and caring" ?
I don't think the seme is a mean as we all think. I honestly think he is very caring and loving. But doesn't know how to go about it. If the author does another chapter, I hope its one of those other side of the story things. Like the seme is the main person in the story and it goes about his thoughts when he first sees (love at first sight) the uke then following up on the years of stalking (my kind of guy (づ￣ ³￣)づ Join the stalker club) and then his feelings when he actually had his chance to get closer to the uke for a reason.
