I actually love the sister

Sometimes women in yaoi are portrayed as either oblivious, cruel, calculating, catty, or just in a negative light since the BL boys are competing against them. But she was quite different. She was not cruel or oblivious, just didn't see him in a romantic way and rejects him nicely. She is also supportive of her brother's love life in a casual/natural way and doesn't act like it new or big news when she reveals that she had a feeling her bro liked the guy "didn't you like him though", like she knew ALL ALONG! I was thinking maybe she's a fellow fujoshi and can spot some BL when she sees it (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

I agree except in stead of saying 'sometimes' I would say ' a lot of times'.
This was really nice and refreshing, I wish more BL could be more positive towards women.

I think most of this comes into play when one of the men is straight and the other gay, and the straight male is coming to terms with his sexuality. Idk why but throwing a woman in there as an obstacle and test to the guy's love always leaves the women being, for the lack of better words, bitchy and rude and competitive, which in turn pushes the couple into realizing their feelings.

That, or when the guys realize they are gay, they are constantly comparing themselves to women and end up hating them bc it's socially accepted for women to be with men romantically/sexually,etc.

I understand it's just a story and a fiction, but it's such a common trend that it starts to leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I mean, I had a situation where a guy I liked was questioning his sexuality. I was disappointed, but that doesn't mean I had to be a jerk--I just thought it couldn't be helped. Plus, honestly, I felt a little better that the guy picked a guy over me than another gal. That and yaoi has made me a more accepting human--if only all people could know what that's like ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄
