I'm not too for sure but I think he got the money as a bribe from the teacher. The spoil of wars meaning idk the outcome of war. The situation with the teacher being the war and the spoils being the money. I could totally be wrong but that's how I read it.
Basically, a teacher did try to kiss him and he told the teacher that he was going to make it public that he was going after a student. The teacher gave him money to keep him quiet. He calls it spoils of war since he is fighting every day lol
he meant about the drink he gave to sumire as a spoil of war since he suggested that the money was from his teacher who offered to pay him in exchange of not telling on him for attempting to kiss a student. sumire thought of it as an extortion but he corrected it and called it as a spoil of war haha
