The timing of this backstory is so shit like regardless of whether this is an attempt at making him seem less shit or not, this whole flashback arc is so misplaced imo. This would have worked so much better right after his initial betrayal started. At least we would have given a fuck about it then. Not now, after we’ve seen him be an absolute piece of shit to someone who had no direct hand in things he’s involved in.
