    The main problem here is the novel's writing, the author has difficulties describing emotions. Dialogues are undefined, very dry, and repeating. So yeah, it's the 2d writing. But... I think the manhwa did such a good job covering those negatives. Except for Freya ofc. I don't know how you can cover that with beautiful and descriptive art.

    I have to admit the manhwa does a much better job conveying emotions compared to the novel, it's actually amazing

    thanks, i haven't read the novel but I have to agree the art does carry a lot. I've noticed the tone of the scene often been set by their expressions rather than dialogues. but freya here... after what she witnessed, to have such a dry reaction and regurgitate old dialogues again, it just felt like even the artist couldn't save it.
