I have a theory I want to test out.

It might sound crazy. It is about the intro.

Iam thinking more and more about the intro scene now. What do you think they were doing, or what event were they attending? One of my immediate thoughts was a funeral of a parent, but if it is, then they wouldn't be sitting by the door, they will be in the front row, as one of them would be serving Chief Mourner and another the Greeter? If it is a memprial of someone's death (again, maybe a parent's or family eg currently unborn sibling) they will be up front serving the guests or engaging guests in discussions/hospitality.

The only other character with much significance in this drama outside family is... Hanabusa. Which fills me with dread, actually, because then it means that the cowering and sadness in the Intro was Haruki mourning Hanabusa, while Hikaru is there to accompany Haruki, which may mean that they are together in some sense, all the while Hikaru is resenting Haruki that Haruki is still thinking of Hanabusa/any other people not him.

However the detached sort of sadness shown by Haruki (Haruki doesn't seem to be hysterically sad in the intro) means that maybe Hanabusa's death happened a distance away (not caused by haruki therefore no deep guilty feelings), but this will mean that Hanabusa only had limited if no contact at all with Haruki in the intermittent seven years. Which means that Hanabusa never met Haruki again after his 11.5 chapter revelation; or that they did meet but decided to part for whatever reason).

whet do you think of my theory?

*immediately went to chap1 intro* (⊙…⊙ ) OMG that is a sound theory and now I'm sad because it means that they are 'together' (╯°Д °)╯╧╧

Nope. it's clear from the intro that they aren't together. The younger brother says the older broke his heart. The older brother clearly still fears the other. He won't even look at him. There is no way they are in a relationship as of the intro.

Interesting theory. I still think it was a family member who had died. Hikaru's tone gave me the impression he did not see Haruki frequently anymore or if he did they did not talk. So Hikaru's attempts to pursue Haruki eventually became unsuccessful. I think if Hanabusa were the one who had died Haruki would go without telling Hikaru. Whereas if a family member had died both of them would be almost obligated to go.

Considering that in the current chapter Hikaru wishes that Haruki thinks only of him. They might be "together" physically but I think Hikaru knows Haruki's mind is elsewhere. Their body language is distant because they are in public and they are not in the traditional sense of relationship. So Hikaru still resents Haruki for not thinking of only him and thus breaks his heart. I don't think Hikaru is going to let Haruki go anywhere without him being able to monitor.

So they are not in a lovey dovey relationship but in a jailor-willing prisoner relationship , where Haruki stays reluctantly with Hikaru (they have sex but not talk/interact like normal couple would, in other words a cold relationship) and now forced to act normal in a public setting.

That is only my theory though. The hint of "Brother BL" in The twitter link makes me think this way.

    That's soap opera talk.
Will Sofia escape her loveless marriage? Will Count Lional ever come out of the coma? Will Alexandria reunite with her long lost, evil twin sister? FIND OUT NEXT TIME!

I understand. I apologize to have offended you. I will wait for next time. I think I made it clear that this is only my theory. And as of right now only the manga author knows what is the endingz i will wait until the next time. I am sorry again.

Oh, no, no. You didn't offend me at all. Sorry if I came off as angry. I by no means intended to.

But the scene takes place seven years in the future.

I contribute my theory after reading comments here:
    1. Both Hikaru and Haruki are chased out of the house (low key disowned), because:
    a) Haruki's father cannot accept son is gay and with be gay with his wife's son
    b) Hikaru's mother finds out her son is unstable, chooses to not take risks to protect her baby. She softens toward Haruki a little but in the end her baby comes first.

    2. Both Hikaru and Haruki go their separate ways. Somehow Haruki also find a way not to have Hikaru know his address/contact.

    3. Haruki somehow meets/ comes across Hanabusa. Due to remorse Hanabusa helps hide Haruki from Hikaru. Maybe get him therapy with his psychiatrist friend. Might offer Haruki his job back or help Haruki find good job elsewhere. Their relationship now is friends only, platonic.

    4. 7 years later, their baby sibling (I don't recall the gender sorry) dies, they have come back for the funeral but the whole family are awkward, which explains the sitting at the back you speak of. Haruki is triggered and feeling of fear of Hikaru comes back. To me that face expression on Haruki is not full on grief, but high strung, would like to bolt out but can't.

    5. End of story, the family talk, but unable to reach reconciliation, part ways again.
