Okay I had 2 thoughts fkdjwkhfw the safe one was he just wanted to hold her hand but hesitated cause it feels like a fwb kinda thing OR 2. She has some injury there or sumn (honestly thinking it might be self cutting) and he feels guilty cause he's the cause or he couldn't help her at that time I AM SO FUCKING CURIOUS NOW
