i totally agree with this take on it but im not sure if she really sees it that way. it seems like she’s meant to be portrayed as impulsive, independent, immature, and a bit selfish. there’s no doubt that her complexity is going to develop more as the story progresses, but now i think she’s more so a person who thinks more about herself (although her actions can be seen as beneficial to jihyo in the bigger picture)

I agree. I'd add that, they both have a trauma that needs to be resolved before they can actualy be a healthy couple. I'm guessing that in this season we'll see hyum soo's. They will realize (or may be not) that they need to work on themselves first. I predict a break up on the horizon (not spoiler just my thoughts).
I feel like no one is understanding this from hyun soo's side. Like imagine you take someone in and they revere you like a god when ur only human. Some would find it creepy but hyunsoo understands that jihyo is acting too co-dependent on her and their relationship. She understands that he has the potential to be his own person, to have a world that doesn't revolve around her, but she also understands that as long as she gives into his desires for her constant attention, he will never grow out of his unhealthy mindset. In my opinion, until jihyo learns to be his own person and not just "pretend to" his feelings will only burden hyunsoo as they should love each other as "people" not savior and servant or artist and art. All things considered her way of wording things can lead to misunderstanding but conversation was never her strong suit (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
