yeah. shounen ai focuses on romance and relationship, and it is more conservative and censored (if there are scenes). yaoi is more mature and explicit, showing detailed r18 themes (that's why majority of them r toxic)

Ok so I’m not sure what the difference between bl and Shounen ai is. I just guessed that Yaoi is bl stories with sex scenes, so Shounen ai should (?) be bl with sex scenes but it’s not shown (if you understand what I mean sorry it’s hard to explain), and bl is just a boys love story without them doing the deeds?
