I don't mind if the author wants a toxic couple or a psycho ml, but what bothers me is bringing down a likeable character like the Director. Why do authors bother to create what could be a great ml if they're not going to portray them as one?
Er...because that's what (most) readers like to read. The customer is always right and authors are here to sell books.
