? It's a way to introduce more characters. Also the lair is accessible physically without the key to teleport. Eg. Those things the angel killed could walk into the lair if they find the entrance. So a guard is good.
I also wonder why he didn't just put everything into inventory will auto-sort by item n quantity at least. Might have limit or doesn't want risk of carrying n dropping any important stuff.
Think like a rich boss, his time is more valuable than the staff cost. He could do quests n trolling instead of housekeeping.
the demon n holy factions need more chance to interact with each other to avoid another big war, through dex is kinda fair n keeping a chaotic balance
