Reynold and the duke are also being brainwashed but maybe not as much as Derrick, bc boyhave sister complex, I feel at some point Reynold felt really guilty about how he kept it a secret about the necklace(I believed) and how Penelope was the one punished instead and for the duke I feel like he grew on Penelope, maybe that’s why the brainwash was not a strong as Derricks. I’m not excusing them, it’s horrible how they’ve treated all these years. I just hope she gets away from them
We all agree that we hate Derrick, even I myself feels disappointed in him ever since the beginning but I wanna bring this up because I feel the hate he’s been getting is a little too much Y’all can still hate him but after Yvonne came back, I ask myself if that’s really Derrick who is doing everything on his own accord. The fact that he is brainwashed, he doesn’t know anything that’s going on hence when the father slapped him, it looks like he came back to his own senses. The hate should be directed to Yvonne due to her being able to brainwash anyone, I pity Derrick because he did care for his og sister but for him to be used by her is kinda ironic itself.
