im so glad dereck's getting all the lashings he deserves and that nobody's excusing his actions just bc yvonne was controlling him.
he's just vile like that, even without yvonne. he's a negligent and a verbally and emotionally abusive prick even without anybody's magical manipulation. and he's like /that/ to penelope who he had the hots for ugh
had he been atleast half as good as reynold (who was doing the bare minimum) then someone could have atleast thought he was acting different and could have, in some way, stopped him. but nooo, his outright 'disdain' for penelope made a lot of horrible things possible and ppl would have thought that was just a normal day for him.
