In these stories you either have monsters/demons/spirits or whatever who just show up and move into your house one day, or you have monster/demon/spirits or whatever who hold down steady jobs/pays taxes/own their own goddamn house.
I was reading one story with a home invader type incubus, then later it was revealed that the uke's coworker was also secretly an incubus too, and i was just like "damn you can get a job then?" Bro make this guy pay rent
i know it isn't the main focus here but the concept of inhuman beings like demons and such being forced to adapt to the advancement of human society is always so fucking funny to me. even monsters are not safe from capitalism
