I can't bring myself to feel bad for a character who won't even help themselves but rather point out faults of others and as if they have no faults. Yes he is a victim but that does not give him any God damn right to neglect a newborn baby and blame others for where he didn't step up either. He could have shipped her to another country, poisoned her and her supporters, made it so she became nothing but a shell of a person but nope plays the victim. The empress knows her wrongs and she uses them to ensure that others fear her. She doesn't act nice unless she needs something but she let's her twisted behavior be known even before mc was born. She may be crazy but at least she doesnt pretend and deflect from the truth unlike the emperor. Also why he (emperor) act so shocked and amazed to see that his son is more then just a tool for the empress. I dare say he enabled any abuse his son received. He could have gotten knights to steal his son but nope rather he leaves him on hells door step and allow for him to become the person he is scared of. Also Im supposed to believe the empress never left long enough for a undercover maid, chef, servent, or anybody to sneak in and rescue etty? Yeah no......especially beacuse the ml snuck in and even had night time visits. If anything its just that some of yall have wishful thinking to the point you don't want to fully hold the emperor accountable. Our mc deserves so much more love and happiness then what either of his parents give him.
