Though you have a point, the fact Dorothy, as a maid, had the balls to stand up for Emilia and Ophelia yet Elodie (while being backed by the Duchy) couldn't cause she didn't want to ??? be disliked basically ??? shows she does need to grow more of a backbone
The comments about Elodie being weak are not it. She was a commonor adopted to literally to replace Ophelia with no to rely on, its so sad tbh. She's too sweet and naive the complete opposite of Ophelia, which is why everyone is taking advantage of her.
(Also I forgot how Dorothy was there when Ophelia and Emilla, they were literally sisters, and I'm so proud of her speaking up!)
