You do know that the queen has been hiding it from just about everybody right? Of course the dad wouldn't know because the queen has been very VERY obsessed about hiding it to the point where she's willing to harm her own son to keep his omega secret and kills anyone who's should not be in the know.

The dad may be a bastard of a father, but I can't fault him for not knowing his son is an omega when the queen is the one that's hiding it like a crazy bitch and the son won't even tell him either.

I mean yh but y the fick would he tell his dad about the abuse when he don’t give two fycks about his own son and then there’s the mom that traumatized him so much he didn’t even have the courage to speak up

But if he cared about Etienne and made him trust himself enough Etienne could have told him and asked him for help

'Cause she wouldn't have the authority to keep him from seeing the birth of his one and only child.

The reason why Etienne won't open up to his father 'cause in his own way he's abused the boy himself. He wasn't there for the birth of his child 'cause he was too busy boohoo-baby-back-BITCHING it up at his own pity party for one.

Yeah, he's not actively poisoning his son like the queen is, but his inaction, self-pitying and loathing for his own innocent child and horrible wife ((which the queen is understandable)) are what ultimately lead to Etienne being continuously abused and eventually an early grave if Rishar hadn't shown up again to finally put plans into action.

Doesn't change the fact that the father wouldn't know that his son is an omega NOW because his son doesn't feel comfortable to reveal it yet. The only way he would know is either someone reveals it to him or he finds out by accident. I don't think he'll care enough to investigate if his son is an omega or beta.
