I can’t speak or formulate how dear and perfect in every way this is. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted and so so much more. The art is so fluid, characters beautifully rendered and urgh, the romance of two characters getting together. The pining, the yearning, the love. It bled through the screen and made reading this an experience like the author has plunged you straight into their world and you can’t breathe. Felt like a newborn when Ichi has his face in his hands, embarrassed and flushed after En tells him he doesn’t want to be charmed.
The dialogue in this. It’s so good. We get to see the characters talking about important things, to see how they function and their world without being overbearing. Most of all the dialogue between Ichi and En. I could and have wept. There’s something about it that made my heart race and choked me up. Conveys their trepidation, love and care.
The world building is so so good too. It was fascinating to read how vampires function and how each of them live with their condition. Sugi broke my heart, and the short haired woman? Step on me please.
Truly one of the best things I’ve ever read even beyond BL. Madly in love with it.
