Pretty sure it's just him being plain straight up homophobic. Incest wasn't that big of an issue unless they were blood related. Relatives n cousins marriage wasn't that uncommon.

I’m just saying it doesn’t help, not that he wasn’t homophobic (like I mentioned in my original comment). He absolutely hates the idea of men being together, I’m just pointing out that the incest aspect gives another layer of self-righteousness to it

I totally forgot that the backstabbing dude was told that the guy was the prince’s relative lol. That isn’t to say that he isn’t homophobic but also, pretty sure him thinking that it’s also incest (even if it’s a lie he doesn’t know about that) made him even more disgusted
