I’m not making the ml seem genuine. I said they both have issues. Besides the ml can definitely take full custody because not only is he financially secure, the mc effectively put the child in danger. You’re attributing the emotional side of this story to the logical side. It doesn’t matter which parent is nicer. The parent with more resources and a chance to give the child a better life will get the child.

the “logical side” is not the only side that is considered. the mother is always more likely to get custody rights, especially when it’s a baby of rape. mc could very easily tell them that he ran away after finding out he was pregnant from the rape bc he was afraid of the rich man and his family. just bc ml has money doesnt mean he gets custody lol. and mc also had a job and a place to live and people around him to help him and the baby. for the mother to lose custody they would have to be an active danger to their child. not just worse off than a rich man.

I feel like as much as the ML is kinda obnoxious and proud the mc also has some issues. If someone entered my house when I was under the influence of something which is kind of like rape, left and gave birth to my child and kept the child away from me. Despite knowing that the child was sick and he didn’t have the resources to manage the sickness. Effectively putting the child in danger. I wouldn’t give you the benefit of the doubt and “tr to be family”. I would take full custody of my child and file a restraining order against you.
