I don't think he's still in love with Xinlu, but I think he probably felt a bit guilty for leaving without saying a word bc they sort of had a thing (barely). But now he's equally upset that Xinlu was trying to take him by force and wants to know why.
But yeah I agree that Xinlu and Ilay are the same breed (---just Ilay is a lot hotter LMAO).
i really wish that was the case. he still called xinlu "lovely boy" in chapter 99 though. i hope he's over it by now.
while i do not condone ilay's violent tendencies i also do not understand why taeui is so adamant in liking xinlu. i thought he already knew what kind of person he is. he's not the soft lovely person he keeps thinking. but i think he's still fooled by his fake personality. xinlu would also force himself on taeui. it was already shown that he would if he could multiple times. it's just that taeui is stronger than him so he weren't able to. in this case, ilay is stronger than taeui is he can force himself on him and the latter can't fight back to stop him. if xinlu is a lot stronger there's no doubt he will act like ilay too. going to the ling residence would mean taeui will have no more free will. hope he can drill it into his head that xinlu isn't any better. he's just the same kind as ilay
